Design work done for designers can be the most rewarding and challenging of assignments. Such was the case with Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company, a 40-year architectural and planning firm focused on higher education, cultural arts and preservation. With a transition in leadership underway, we helped recast a vision for the future of the firm and to empower those coming up.
A new brand position, Designing Environments that Inspire Personal Growth, embraced the education focus the firm was known for. And shortening the firm name to the commonly used “Hanbury” was pivotal in signaling to both clients and staff, that change was underway. Like the design philosophy of the firm – understated, simple, uncluttered, a sense of space – the visual brand and our new website design provided a fresh, yet timeless identity.
From CEO Jane Wright: "Launching a new brand identity is very much a reflection of how we have grown as a firm. Having achieved a distinctive national/international position, unique among other regionally scaled design firms, requires that we present a clear and simplified face to the world."
